What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality nursing care to diverse patient populations, including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, and post-procedural patients
- Manage patient conditions within a 1:3 RN-to-patient ratio
- Administer medications, manage IV lines, arterial lines, and ventilator support
- Perform assessments, chart interventions in EMR (Meditech Expanse), and ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with charge nurses, hospitalists, RT, and other team members
- Support unit operations, including managing patient care, support for the resource nurse, and unit float coverage
- Adhere to hospital protocols and safety procedures, including passing an EKG competency exam
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible to practice in the state
- Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant RN experience in an acute care setting
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam (included in onboarding process)
- Key skills: patient assessment, medication administration, IV management, tubes and lines management, diabetes and drip titration (preferred), excellent communication skills

This assignment is at a busy, modern hospital serving a diverse patient population. The RN will work in the Post-Op/Step-Down unit, providing critical care and assisting with complex medical cases. The unit features a team-oriented environment, modern equipment, and a focus on staff professionalism and patient safety. During your contract, enjoy free parking, professional attire, and a supportive team dedicated to your success. Shift coverage includes weekends, with potential for holiday work. Orientation includes two days of hospital training plus a unit shift before starting patient care.
