What You’ll Do:
- Provide first assist support in adult cardiothoracic surgeries such as CABG, valve repairs, and ascending aortic surgeries
- Assist with reoperative sternotomies and complex procedures
- Support intraoperative mechanical circulatory support procedures including Impella and ECMO cannulation
- Participate in endoscopic vein harvesting and chest tube placements
- Collaborate with a team of cardiac surgeons and intensivists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document procedures in Epic EMR system
- Support surgical team during emergent and scheduled surgeries, including call coverage as scheduled
What You Need:
- Active Missouri license
- BLS certification; RNFA preferred
- At least 2 years of independent adult cardiac OR first assist experience
- Strong intraoperative skills in adult cardiac procedures
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
About the Assignment:
This assignment involves providing surgical assistance in a renowned academic hospital with an annual volume of approximately 517 pump cases. The position offers exposure to a broad spectrum of adult cardiac procedures, from complex aortic surgeries to minimally invasive valve repairs, all supported by cutting-edge equipment such as the Maquet EVH System.
