What You’ll Do
- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders
- Support patients through ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and assistive devices
- Assess patient progress; communicate with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Document all clinical and regulatory information accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with healthcare team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and discharge planning
- Support patient and caregiver education on therapy processes and progress
- Support and supervise students, if applicable, under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist
What You Need
- Valid State Licensure or Registration as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Prior experience in long-term care or similar clinical settings preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adhere to NBCOT / AOTA practice acts and ethical standards
