What You’ll Do
- Provide inpatient management for high-acuity cardiac surgery stepdown patients in a cardiac surgery unit
- Support staff alongside cardiac surgeons, including patient rounding and post-op care
- Handle complex cardiac cases including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgeries
- Manage patient assessments, diagnostics, treatment planning, and discharge processes
- Proficiently manage chest tubes, wound care, and surgical drain removal
- Monitor for clinical deterioration and escalate care promptly
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients and families
What You Need
- Licensed PA or NP in Missouri
- Board certification in relevant specialty
- BLS & ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience, trauma level I experience preferred
- Proficiency in managing advanced cardiac cases and high-acuity patients
- Ability to work independently with excellent communication and professionalism
