General/Invasive Cardiologist

Overview

A leading health system in Northeast Michigan is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General/Invasive Cardiologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity. This assignment combines outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and call coverage with the flexibility to perform diagnostic procedures based on the provider's experience. Providers available for two weeks per month are encouraged to apply.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Outpatient Clinic and Inpatient Hospital


• Start Date: ASAP


• Contract: Ongoing


• Credentialing: Approximately 30 days


• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour days, plus shared call


• Call: 1:3 beeper call rotation (approximately 10 days per month)


• Coverage: Two weeks per month


• EMR: Epic with Dragon

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care


• Perform inpatient cardiology rounding and consultations


• Interpret cardiac imaging and diagnostic testing


• Perform procedures based on experience, including:
  
  
  
  • Diagnostic cardiac catheterization (optional)
  
  
  • Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
  
  
  • Cardioversion
  
  
  • Loop recorder implantation and explantation
  
  
  
  


• Collaborate with an Advanced Practice Provider


• Document patient care using Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology


• Active Michigan license or IMLC


• Current ACLS and BLS certifications


• Recent procedural experience with:
  
  
  
  • 50 cardiology cases within the past 12 months
  
  
  • 25 TEEs within the past 12 months
  
  
  
  


• Willingness to complete proctoring if required based on procedural privileges


• Interventional Cardiologists will not be considered
