Registered Nurse - PCU
Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), where your expertise will make a vital difference in patient outcomes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with diverse patient populations, including those with AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, and stroke-related conditions. As a pivotal member of our healthcare team, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing skills.
In this position, you will manage patient care in a fast-paced setting, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3. Your responsibilities will include titratable IV medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and supporting patients with peritoneal dialysis or lumbar drains (preferred). You will need to pass an EKG competency exam prior to orientation and hold current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience in an acute care setting
- Proficiency in titratable IV therapies, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
- Ability to support high-acuity patients, including stroke and surgical cases
- Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Comfort with EMR systems, specifically Meditech Expanse
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Peritoneal Dialysis and lumbar CSF drains
- Knowledge of IV pumps (Alaris) and medication dispensing systems (Pyxis)
- Experience supporting unit resource teams or float pools
Preferred Education & Experience:
- RN degree from an accredited nursing program
- At least 2 years of relevant hospital nursing experience in a comparable unit
- Prior experience in stroke, med-surg, or cardiac care is a plus
Other Requirements:
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Flexibility to support a 4-day or 3-day work schedule on a weekly basis
- Must adhere to hospital dress code and safety protocols, including uniform and badge policies

Hourly Pay Rate: $50.25
