Description
We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 27-day assignment in Missouri, starting Sep 8, 2026. This role involves 0600-1830 shifts with a mix of OR and clinic responsibilities. The Physician Assistant will primarily assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases, including endovascular vein harvesting (EVH), ECMO cannulations, and CABG, while also managing pre/post-operative patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties - Provide surgical assistance in the Operating Room for cardiovascular and thoracic cases.
- Demonstrate proficiency in endovascular vein harvesting (EVH), with a preferred harvest time of 45-60 minutes.
- Assist with ECMO cannulations.
- Participate in a variety of surgical cases, including CABG, aortic dissection, and Impella placement and removal.
- Manage pre and post-operative patients, including those on ECMO.
- Conduct clinic duties for approximately four hours daily, seeing 4-9 patients per day in the consult clinic.
- Handle documentation for clinic patients, with attending physician support on specific days.
- Serve as the solo provider on weekends with an attending physician available for support.
- Maintain excellent case logs.
Additional Information - Required Board Certification: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC)
- EMR: Epic
- Endovascular vein harvesting (EVH) proficiency is a mandatory requirement for this role.
