Description

We are seeking an Orthopedic Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment with our client in Oregon, beginning Oct 19, 2026. This role involves first assisting in a variety of orthopedic surgical cases, evaluating new consultations, managing follow-up visits, and participating in a call rotation. The schedule is structured with either clinic hours from 8a to 6p or surgery hours from 7a to 4p, focusing on comprehensive patient care for diverse musculoskeletal conditions.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • First assist in orthopedic surgical cases
  • Evaluate new orthopedic consultations
  • Manage follow-up and post-operative visits
  • Diagnose and treat fractures and musculoskeletal injuries
  • Perform joint injections and aspirations
  • Order and interpret imaging studies
  • Develop treatment plans with supervising surgeons
  • Round on post-operative orthopedic patients as needed
  • Participate in weekday and weekend call rotation
  • Complete documentation and patient education


Additional Information

  • EMR: Cerner
  • Case types include primary and revision total knee and hip replacements
  • Experience with shoulder arthroplasty and rotator cuff pathology
  • Management of sports medicine injuries and acute/chronic fractures
  • Proficiency in joint injections and aspiration procedures
  • Involvement in pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care
  • General orthopedic consultations for adult and adolescent patients
