What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care in a Cardiac Stepdown and Medical Stepdown unit
- Titrate cardiac, insulin, and vasopressor drips (e.g., Dopamine, Amiodarone, Nitro)
- Manage central lines, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and drains/tubes
- Respond to patient needs with attentive monitoring and intervention
- Demonstrate proficiency with Meditech Expanse EMR and IV pumps
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including CNAs, RT, hospitalist, and resource nurses
- Support patient safety through charting, documentation, and compliance
What You Need
- Valid RN license in the state of Louisiana
- At least 2 years of recent PCU RN experience in a hospital setting
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (LVAD preferred for 2 West)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive EKG competency exam
- Skills: cardiac drip management, wound care, central line management, and ability to handle complex patient cases including respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, sepsis, post-surgical care, and more
