Description
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time locum Cardiothoracic Surgery First Assist opportunity in Maryland. This weekday-only position offers a consistent schedule with no call and no weekend responsibilities.
Overview
- Start as soon as credentialing is complete
- Approximately 20 shifts per month
- Shift Times: 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM starts, based on surgical case load
- No call required
- No weekend coverage
- EMR: Epic
Responsibilities
- First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Perform endoscopic and open vein harvesting
- Collaborate with an experienced cardiothoracic surgery team
- Provide perioperative patient care in a hospital setting
Requirements
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Active Maryland license required
- DEA and Maryland CSR required
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience
- Extensive first assist experience in cardiac surgery
- Proven experience with vein harvesting
