What You’ll Do:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology patients, including hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant, gynecologic, and surgical oncology cases
- Perform bedside procedures such as CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
- Administer medications using barcode medication administration systems
- Monitor patient status with equipment like IV pumps, feeding pumps, and SCD machines
- Document patient care accurately within electronic health records (Epic)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Assist with patient education and support throughout treatment
What You Need:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana (or eligible to obtain)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least 2 years of oncology nursing experience
- Proficiency in Epic electronic medical records system
- Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to emergency team procedures
About the Assignment:
Join a dedicated team in a 7-bed positive pressure unit specializing in hematology and oncology. The unit is equipped for bedside CVC placements, bone marrow biopsies, and integrated with advanced hospital technology. First-time travelers are welcome, with a focus on patient-centered oncology care. The role includes weekend coverage on an alternating basis, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment.
