What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care in a newly established Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit for adult patients with diverse conditions, including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, and post-op from joint and abdominal surgeries
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and symptoms, responding to changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Support patient education and discharge planning
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including HUCs, phlebotomy, RT, and hospitalists
- Support float assignments within hospital units, maintaining flexibility and professionalism
What You Need
- Valid RN license in the state of Louisiana or appropriate compact license
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience, including MedSurg and telemetry
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Skills in wound management, IV access, hemodialysis catheter care, PCA, pain management, and ECG competencies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong clinical judgment
