What You’ll Do
- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments through review of records and clinical interviews
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on assessments
- Document all treatment and evaluations accurately in health care records
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information at all times
- Apply psychological counseling theories and techniques in client care
- Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions for inmate needs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality mental health support
What You Need
- Valid and current California LCSW or LPCC license
- Prior experience in mental health assessment and counseling
- Strong knowledge of psychological counseling techniques and confidentiality standards
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced facility environment
- US Citizenship for ICE clearance (expedited process in place)
- Willingness to obtain ICE clearance (processing time 4-6 weeks); start date contingent upon clearance
About the Assignment
This role is based at a prominent facility in San Diego, providing non-medical mental health services to inmate populations. The Mental Health Coordinator will deliver critical mental health support, including assessments, counseling, and crisis response—playing a vital role in ensuring inmate well-being and safety.
