"Hematology/Oncology PhysicianAssignment Details • Location: Chambersburg and Waynesboro, Pennsylvania • Provider Type: Physician • Specialty: Hematology/Oncology • Start Date: As soon as credentialed • Coverage Approved Through: 03/31/2027 • Duration: 13 weeks with ongoing coverage need • Full-time coverage preferred • Minimum Availability: 3 days per week • Practice Setting: Clinic with inpatient and emergency department consultation support • EMR/Documentation: Nuance dictation system • Cancer program accredited by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Compensation: Hourly Rate: $500/hr 24-Hour Call: $3985 per 24 hours Night Call: $960/shift Call Back: $555/hr Schedule • Clinic: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM • Full-time ongoing coverage preferred • Minimum of 3 days per week accepted • Night and weekend call required approximately 1 week per month • Call includes inpatient and phone coverage • Typical call volume: 0-2 calls per day • Inpatient consults may occur before or after clinic • No dedicated administrative time
Coverage Dates November 2026 • November 2-6 • November 9-13 • November 16-20 • November 23-25 • November 27 • November 30 December 2026 • December 1-4 • December 7-11 • December 14-18 • December 21-23 • December 24: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM • December 28-30 • December 31: 8:00 AM-3:00 PM January 2027 • January 4-8 • January 11-15 • January 18-22 • January 25-29 February 2027 • February 1-5 • February 8-12 • February 15-19 • February 22-26 March 2027 • March 1-5 • March 8-12 • March 15-19 • March 22-26 • March 29-31 Patient Population • Adults only • Approximately 15 patients per day • Approximately 2 new patients per day • Remaining volume consists primarily of treatment and follow-up patients • Approximately 2/3 Oncology and 1/3 Hematology Clinical Responsibilities • Provide outpatient Hematology/Oncology care • Support inpatient and emergency department Hematology/Oncology consultations • Inpatient consultation/rounding may require approximately 1-2 hours • Participate in tumor board • Coordinate with Radiation Oncology with navigator support • Serve as supervising provider approximately one morning and one afternoon each week • Address urgent patient needs for providers who are not in the office • No inpatient chemotherapy • No pediatric care Typical Clinical Cases • Lung cancer • Breast cancer • Prostate cancer • Colorectal cancer • General community Hematology/Oncology cases • Some blood cancers are referred to tertiary centers • Targeted therapies are typically initiated at a tertiary center Infusion/Treatment Services • Chemotherapy • Immunotherapy • IVIG • IV iron • Non-chemotherapy injections • Hospital-based infusion services support port labs, infusions, injections, and transfusions • Hospital infusion services do not administer chemotherapy Procedures • Bone marrow biopsies not required • Lumbar punctures not required • Port access is performed by nursing staff • No BMT consults or BMT care required Clinic Workflow • Pre-treatment and established follow-up visits: approximately 20 minutes • New Hematology consults and hospital follow-ups: approximately 40 minutes • New Oncology consults: approximately 60 minutes • Clinic schedule is not blocked for inpatient consultation responsibilities Support Structure • 1 Nurse Practitioner • 1 virtual Hematologist • Provider will not be the sole provider on site • Experienced physicians available within the practice • Radiation Oncology navigator support Requirements • Hematology/Oncology Board Certification preferred • Double Board Certification preferred • Fellowship training required • Pennsylvania license preferred • IMLC/licensing candidates may be considered • Less experienced physicians may be considered • Medical Oncologists comfortable managing Hematology cases may potentially be considered Credentialing • Standard credentialing timeframe: approximately 90 days • Credentialing required for both coverage locations"
