What You’ll Do
- Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients, including those with hematology, medical oncology, BMT, and gynecologic cancers
- Assist with bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
- Administer medications and manage infusion therapies using Alaris IV pumps and barcode medication systems
- Monitor patient progress and respond promptly to emergencies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Follow strict infection control and safety protocols
- Document patient care accurately in Epic
What You Need
- Valid Louisiana RN license or nurse license in your state with the ability to practice in Louisiana
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required); ONS preferred
- Prior experience in oncology nursing and familiarity with Epic EHR system
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to an emergency response environment
About the Assignment
This unit is a 7-bed positive pressure wing dedicated to BMT and acute leukemia patients. It features bedside CVC placements, bone marrow biopsies, and state-of-the-art equipment, providing an excellent environment for professional growth. This role includes responsibilities in acute patient care, infusion management, and emergency team participation.
