What You’ll Do
- Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients, including hematology and bone marrow transplant populations
- Assist with bedside procedures such as CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
- Administer medications and treatments using Epic-integrated equipment, such as Alaris IV and feeding pumps
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, and response to therapies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document care accurately following facility protocols
- Support float requirements and weekend coverage as needed
What You Need
- Valid RN license for Louisiana or equivalent state
- BLS certification; ACLS preferred
- Epic experience required
- 1+ year of recent oncology, hematology, or transplant nursing experience
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to emergency team assignments when necessary
About the Assignment
This oncology unit features a 7-bed positive pressure wing dedicated to BMT and acute leukemia patients. You will be providing acute care, including bedside procedures, medication administration, and patient monitoring, in a supportive environment designed to accommodate first-time travelers. The facility values teamwork, expertise, and compassionate care in managing complex patient populations.
