Travel Registered Nurse - Critical Care Days in Alexandria, LA

What You'll Do:
- Provide independent nursing care to critically ill patients, including those on ventilators, post-surgical recovery, and with complex cardiac conditions
- Manage patients with devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impellas
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, adjusting care plans accordingly
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
- Educate patients and their families about treatments and ongoing care needs
What You Need:
Required:
- RN license in Louisiana or a compact state
- BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA
- 1 year of critical care experience (preferred; new graduates considered)
- Ability to work 7 AM – 7 PM shift
- Ability to meet facility-specific onboarding and competency requirements
Preferred:
- Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, CRRT, or post-op cardiovascular surgeries
- Critical Care certification or additional specialized training
About the Assignment:
Join a fast-paced ICU caring for patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions, including DKA, acute respiratory failure, myocardial infarctions, CABGs, and ventilated patients. The unit emphasizes safe, effective, and patient-centered care while supporting staff development through onboarding and ongoing training.
