Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Annual Hours: 4,368 Clinical Hours + 102 Administrative/Training Hours
License Requirement: Any Active, Unrestricted U.S. State Medical License (Federal Facility)

Position Overview
JR Enterprise is working on behalf of the Fargo VA Health Care System, which is seeking two Hospitalist Physicians to join its 24/7 hospitalist care team and provide comprehensive inpatient medical services to Veterans.
The role includes admitting, managing, consulting on, and discharging hospitalized Veterans, as well as participating in Rapid Response and Code Blue team activities. This is a hands-on inpatient opportunity within a highly supported, high-performing facility recognized for clinical excellence.________________________________________
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Practice
•  Inpatient Care: Perform admissions, history and physical examinations, daily rounds, complex patient management, and discharge planning.
•  Rapid Response & Code Teams: Active participation in Code Blue and Rapid Response calls during shift hours.
•  Consultations: Provide specialty medical consultations and collaborate closely with Primary Care and subspecialties.
•  EHR & Quality: Utilize VA Electronic Health Record systems (CPRS/EDIS) for seamless documentation and participate in Quality Improvement initiatives.
•  Teaching/Supervision (Optional/Preferred): Opportunity to supervise and teach residents and medical students.
Core Inpatient Bedside Procedures
Candidates should be comfortable and eligible to seek privileges for standard bedside hospitalist procedures, including:
•  Ultrasound-Guided Thoracentesis & Paracentesis
•  Lumbar Punctures (Spinal Tap)
•  Abscess Incision & Drainage (I&D)
•  Joint Aspirations & Injections (Non-hip, non-ankle, lateral epicondyle)
•  Nasogastric (NG) Tube Insertion & Foley Catheter Placement
•  ACLS Procedures (Advanced resuscitation, cardioversion, code management)
•  Removal of Lines & Tubes (Central lines, drains, catheters)

Candidate Qualifications
Required
•  Degree: MD or DO from an accredited program.
•  Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
•  Licensure: Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
•  Certifications: Active BLS and ACLS (AHA approved), plus active DEA Registration.
•  Experience: Proven inpatient hospital medicine experience with full procedural competency.
•  English Proficiency: Spoken and written fluency required.
•  Credentialing: Ability to pass VA background screening, credentialing, and privileging.
Preferred
•  Active North Dakota Medical License.
•  Prior experience working within the VA Health Care System.
•  Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) experience.
•  Experience in residency teaching or academic medicine.
