What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse oncology patient population with complex needs
- Monitor patient conditions using GE telemetry systems and other specialized equipment
- Administer medications including chemotherapies, as appropriate, with support for professional development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Follow infection prevention protocols and patient safety standards
- Assist with patient education and discharge planning
- Float within related units as needed, ensuring optimal staffing levels
What You Need
- Ohio RN license and BCLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience, with preference for oncology background
- Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends
- Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication
- Adaptability to a busy, fast-paced environment
About the Assignment
This unit specializes in caring for medical oncology patients, including those with solid tumors and blood cancers. The 48-bed unit combines medical-surgical and telemetry services, with a focus on infection control and patient safety. Staff will support patients through complex treatments, including chemotherapy administration, with an emphasis on professional development. Pediatric patients are rare and typically cared for by permanent staff; pediatric experience is not required for agency RN staff.
