What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and dispense medications according to physician orders using established policies and protocols

  • Interpret drug orders (verbal and written) and transcribe into electronic patient records accurately

  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including sterile and non-sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition

  • Issue controlled substances and maintain proper records in compliance with regulations

  • Manage and supervise pharmacy support staff and technicians

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services including medication therapy management, anticoagulation, and patient education in ambulatory care settings

  • Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing

  • Participate in hospital committees on antibiotic stewardship, opioid stewardship, and medication shortage management

  • Engage in quality improvement activities and clinical interventions such as pharmacokinetic dosing support and medication reconciliation

  • Attend interdisciplinary rounds and provide timely, efficient pharmacy services


What You Need

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS Pharmacy degree

  • Texas pharmacy license in good standing

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA)

  • Hospital experience preferred

  • Strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
