What You’ll Do
- Prepare and dispense medications according to physician orders using established policies and protocols
- Interpret drug orders (verbal and written) and transcribe into electronic patient records accurately
- Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including sterile and non-sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
- Issue controlled substances and maintain proper records in compliance with regulations
- Manage and supervise pharmacy support staff and technicians
- Provide clinical pharmacy services including medication therapy management, anticoagulation, and patient education in ambulatory care settings
- Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing
- Participate in hospital committees on antibiotic stewardship, opioid stewardship, and medication shortage management
- Engage in quality improvement activities and clinical interventions such as pharmacokinetic dosing support and medication reconciliation
- Attend interdisciplinary rounds and provide timely, efficient pharmacy services
What You Need
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS Pharmacy degree
- Texas pharmacy license in good standing
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA)
- Hospital experience preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
