What You’ll Do
- Perform routine and complex laboratory tests including specimen processing, analysis, and reporting
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Follow quality control protocols to ensure accurate results
- Utilize laboratory information systems for data entry and result verification
- Collaborate with team members and cross-train in different lab sections as needed
- Process and handle patient specimens safely and efficiently
- Assist in developing or updating testing procedures and protocols
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
- Document and communicate critical laboratory findings promptly
- Support team efforts to maintain high laboratory standards in a busy clinical environment
What You Need
- Certification in Medical Technology (MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT) from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS
- Valid Louisiana state licensure
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in laboratory science, or equivalent training (including military lab courses)
- No experience required for recent graduates or those with approved clinical laboratory training; 1-year recent lab experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
