  JOB REQUIREMENTS
  

  

    
• Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine (ABIM), or Family Medicine (ABFM); IM/FM providers must have EM fellowship or significant EM experience

    
• Licenses: Active unrestricted Virginia Medical License, Active DEA with Virginia address

    
• DEA / CDS: Active DEA required

    
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, ATLS (for non-ABEM physicians) required

    
• Experience: Residency completed; for IM/FM, EM fellowship or significant EM experience

    
• Other Qualifications: Current season Flu Vaccine, Documentation of case logs for previous 2 years, Proof of completed CME credits for previous 2 years, Sedation Quiz required

  

  DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  

  

    
• Provide 24-hour physician coverage in the Emergency Department

    
• Manage approximately 16,000 annual ED visits with a 10-12% admission rate

    
• Collaborate with 12-hour APP coverage for comprehensive patient care

    
• Stabilize and treat patients, arranging transfers for trauma, pediatrics, neurology, psychiatry, and burns as needed

    
• Utilize Meditech EMR and coordinate with available specialty support services
