Description
We are seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist Physician for a 56-day assignment with our client in Ohio, commencing Sep 28, 2026. This role involves 7-14 shifts monthly, primarily 24-hour shifts from 8am to 8am. Responsibilities include managing a mix of hospital rounds, outpatient office visits, inpatient consults, and handling parent phone calls, with regular after-hours and weekend phone call coverage required.
Responsibilities and Duties - Provide coverage for 7-14 shifts per month, consisting of 24-hour shifts from 8am-8am.
- Conduct hospital rounds as needed.
- Manage outpatient office hours, typically Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday 8am-12pm.
- Perform inpatient consults as required.
- Handle after-hours call every weekday.
- Provide weekend call coverage for parent phone calls only.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 14 clinic patients during a full office day.
- Address pediatric endocrine conditions including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes (new diagnoses, insulin, CGM/pump management), early or delayed puberty, growth hormone deficiency, and abnormal thyroid function.
- Evaluate and treat thyroid nodules/goiter, obesity, metabolic disorders, adrenal disorders, PCOS, and disorders of sex development.
- Handle hypoglycemia, calcium/bone disorders, and pituitary disorders.
- Perform inpatient consults for new-onset or poorly controlled diabetes (including DKA), hypoglycemia, electrolyte abnormalities, adrenal insufficiency, and sodium abnormalities.
- Consult on abnormal thyroid labs, abnormal glucose related to critical illness or medications, endocrine complications in oncology patients, and post-operative endocrine management.
- Manage patients receiving steroids who require adrenal-axis assessment or steroid management.
- Address endocrine issues in medically complex and neonatal patients.
Additional Information - Board Certification in Pediatric Endocrinology is required.

- Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient.
- Call Schedule: After-hours call every weekday; weekend call coverage (phone only).
- Patients per day: Approximately 14 clinic patients in a full office day; 1 admission/inpatient per day.
- Office Staffing Mix: 1 Physician, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 2 Dieticians, 1 Medical Assistant, and 2 Front Desk Associates.
- Facility: Trauma Center with a Pediatric Floor, PICU, NICU, and dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department.
