Cardiothoracic Surgery NP/PA – Flexible Schedule | Ongoing Assignment

Overview

A Wisconsin hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for ongoing Cardiothoracic Surgery coverage. This role combines surgical and inpatient responsibilities with shared call and occasional outpatient coverage. The provider will also have the opportunity to mentor and train newly hired permanent APCs. (Job ID: 51736)

• Start Date: September 7, 2026


• Duration: Ongoing until permanent APCs are hired and trained


• Schedule: Rotates weekly or monthly between five 8-hour days and four 10-hour days


• Setting: Hospital-based Cardiothoracic Surgery


• Coverage: Surgical, inpatient, and occasional outpatient duties


• Call: Shared with another full-time APC


• Additional Responsibilities: Mentor and train newly hired permanent APCs


• Credentialing: Approximately 60 days

Requirements

• NP or PA board certification


• Active Wisconsin license


• Cardiothoracic fellowship


• BLS through the American Heart Association


• No pending malpractice claims
