What You’ll Do
- Provide expert emergency nursing care for a diverse patient population, including infants through end-of-life patients
- Manage a variety of acuity levels such as MedSurg, ICU, Stepdown, and trauma cases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalist physicians, RTs, and ED physicians
- Administer critical interventions such as ventilator management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and stroke TPA administration
- Support patient stabilization, assessment, and documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Assist with procedures including splinting, managing hemodynamic lines, chest tubes, and drains
- Follow unit protocols including suicide risk assessments, seizure management, and respiratory care
What You Need
- Required:
- Active RN license in Louisiana
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI or MOAB certifications
- At least 2 years of recent ED experience
- Skilled in ventilator management, critical care drips, cardiac monitoring
- Preferred:
- Trauma experience and TPA administration
- Previous hospital-based acute care experience
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
