Primary Care Physician – Outpatient Family Medicine / Internal Medicine
Overview
A healthcare organization in Northern California is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician for a long-term locum tenens assignment. This full-time outpatient opportunity offers a consistent four-day workweek focused on preventive care, chronic disease management, and continuity of care for an adult patient population.

Assignment Details
- Setting: Outpatient Primary Care Clinic
- Start Date: January 2027
- Contract: 9–12 months
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
- Call: None
- Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days
- EMR: Cerner CareB
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for adult patients
- Perform preventive health visits and annual wellness exams
- Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate follow-up care
- Collaborate with medical assistants and the interdisciplinary care team
- Document patient encounters using Cerner CareB
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Active California medical license
- Full-time availability for the duration of the assignment
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Active DEA registration
- Experience caring for adult patients required; pediatric experience preferred
- Eligible for hospital credentialing
