Hematology/Oncology Physician – Wisconsin | Flexible Locums Coverage
Overview
A Wisconsin healthcare organization is seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity. Full-time coverage is preferred, but physicians available 2–3 weeks per month may also be considered. (Job ID: 51792)
Details
- Start: ASAP
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Coverage: Full-time preferred; 2–3 weeks/month considered
- Setting: Outpatient clinic and hospital
- Patient Volume: Approximately 15 encounters per shift
- Call: 1:4 weekly hospital call
- Daily hospital rounding during call weeks
- Outpatient clinic, inpatient chemotherapy, and acute leukemia coverage
- Bone marrow biopsies required
- Support from physicians, APPs, RNs/MAs, patient navigators, and infusion RNs
- Radiation oncology services available
Requirements
- Board Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician
- Hematology/Oncology training required; Medical Oncology-only candidates are not a fit
- ACLS
- ATLS
- BLS
- Proficiency with bone marrow biopsies
- Experience with post-autologous stem cell transplant and post-CAR-T patients is preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient hematology/oncology care
- Manage acute leukemia and inpatient chemotherapy patients
- Supervise chemotherapy for assigned patients
- Perform bone marrow biopsies
- Complete inpatient rounding during assigned call coverage
- Manage add-on consults and shared weekday clinic call
- Provide appropriate documentation for post-transplant and post-CAR-T patients
