Our client in Texas is actively seeking an Advanced Gastroenterologist for a 7-day assignment beginning Oct 15, 2026. This role involves a 24-hour call schedule from 7 AM to 7 AM, where the Physician will primarily perform scheduled colonoscopies, manage inpatient consults from the previous night, and handle a variety of complex gastrointestinal procedures including small bowel biopsies, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, flexible and rigid colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and liver biopsies.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform scheduled colonoscopies.
  • Visit and manage inpatient consults.
  • Conduct small bowel biopsies.
  • Perform lower GI endoscopy.
  • Conduct sigmoidoscopy, both flexible and rigid.
  • Perform colonoscopy, including procedures with biopsy or excision of polyps.
  • Execute endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).
  • Perform liver biopsies.


Additional Information

  • Required Board Certification: Gastroenterology.
  • EMR: Epic.
  • Call Schedule: 24-hour call coverage, 7 AM to 7 AM.
  • Setting: Inpatient consults are a primary component of this role.
