General Dentist | Mission-Driven FQHC

Near Wichita, Kansas

Our mission-driven dental clinic is seeking a General Dentist to join its growing dental team at our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Our FQHC is the 4th largest health center in Kansas and has been recognized for its commitment to quality with 10 Gold Level Quality Leader Awards, the Million Hearts Award, and nine National Quality Leader Awards.

Position Overview:

The dental department is experiencing continued growth and currently operates 8 operatories, with an expansion underway to 14 operatories. The practice serves up to 4,800 unique dental patients annually and has an experienced, highly stable dental team.

  • A collaborative integrated behavioral health model

  • A mix of Medicaid patient population, along with PPO-insured patients
  • An organization committed to high clinical standards and quality outcomes

The practice is also developing an implant program, in working toward expanding implant services for the future.

  • Pediatric dentistry
  • Preventive dentistry
  • Community and outreach dentistry
  • School-based dentistry
  • Nursing-home dentistry
  • Care for patients with disabilities
  • Future implant services as the program develops

A strong interest in pediatric dentistry and preventive care is particularly welcome, as the outgoing provider had a significant focus in pediatric preventive dentistry.

Rural & Community Outreach

One of the most distinctive aspects of this opportunity is our outreach program.

The dental outreach team serves approximately 70 schools across 10 counties, providing care in:

  • Schools
  • Nursing homes
  • Disability support centers
  • Other community-based settings

The outreach program utilizes portable dental equipment transported in vans and travels as far as 100 miles from the primary clinic. Dentists have an opportunity to participate in this meaningful community outreach and school-based dentistry program while making a significant impact on access to care throughout rural Kansas.

Patient Volume & Clinical Workflow

The practice averages approximately 15 patients per day. Dentists have their own operative columns, with hygiene examinations incorporated between operative patients. The scheduling model is designed to ensure that at least two dentists are onsite.
