What You’ll Do
- Provide routine and complex nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting
- Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs, and respond to emergencies promptly
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocol, evaluating responses
- Document patient history, care provided, and treatment outcomes accurately
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery processes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient recovery
- Delegate tasks appropriately to team members to optimize patient flow and safety
What You Need
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)
- Valid RN license in Texas or a compact state
- Minimum 2 years of PACU, critical care, or perioperative nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
About the Assignment
This assignment involves providing high-quality post-operative care in a busy, well-respected facility in San Marcos. You will be part of a dedicated team delivering recovery and stabilization services for a diverse patient population, including general, orthopedic, urology, ENT, GYN, and pediatric cases. There are no neuro or cardio cases involved in this position, making it an ideal fit for experienced PACU nurses seeking a supportive environment with flexible scheduling options.
