What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care on a busy surgical oncology unit, managing acute and post-surgical oncology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy, IV antibiotics, blood transfusions, and manage oncologic emergencies.
- Monitor patient vitals, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate care plans.
- Ensure infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures are followed diligently.
- Document patient information accurately using EPIC or other electronic charting systems.
- Respond to patient needs promptly, including handling cytokine release syndrome, insulin, and heparin drips.
- Support patient education and discharge planning to optimize recovery and safety.
What You Need
Required:
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with 1+ year in PCU
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to float within scope of practice as needed
Preferred:
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Oncology Chemotherapy Certification (ONS Chemo)
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
