What You’ll Do
- Provide expert care to ICU patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, flexing to 1:3 or occasionally 1:4 in MS/PCU units
- Perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts as part of routine patient care
- Float to ICU, ED, PACU, and sometimes MS/PCU units as needed
- Monitor critical patients using advanced devices such as Alaris IV Pumps, Servo I ventilators, and Edwards Lifesciences monitors
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with all hospital protocols and safety standards
- Adapt to caring for isolation and COVID-19 patients, using appropriate PPE, including N95 mask sizes
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or compact state
- Minimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience, with Epic EMR experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIH (CPI can be obtained at the facility for $100)
- Ability to work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Strong clinical skills in lab procedures, ventilator management, and medication administration
- Ability to float across ICU, ED, PACU, and MS/PCU units
