What You’ll Do
- Provide routine and complex nursing care to labor and delivery patients, utilizing the nursing process.
- Assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care activities accurately.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about care, procedures, and post-discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate leadership by managing contingencies and delegating appropriately.
What You Need
Required:
- Current RN license in Texas or a valid compact state license
- Certification in BLS (AHA), NRP, ACLS
- At least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery or related specialty
- Knowledge of FHM or electronic fetal monitoring preferred
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Perinatal RN residency or recent experience in perinatal care
- Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills
