What You’ll Do
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately based on physician orders
- Interpret and verify verbal and written drug orders into patient records
- Compound and dispense sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition
- Issue controlled substances and maintain regulatory records
- Provide clinical consultation, including drug interaction and contraindication review
- Monitor and adjust drug therapies, ensuring safety and efficacy
- Participate in medication management, antibiotic and opioid stewardship programs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during rounds and clinical activities
- Educate patients and families on medication use and safety
What You Need
- Required:
- Louisiana Pharmacy Licensure
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy degree
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Preferred:
- ACLS certification
- Experience in ICU, emergency, behavioral health, or orthopedic settings
