What You’ll Do
- Assess and diagnose patients through history taking and physical examinations
- Initiate, review, and adjust treatment plans in compliance with California regulations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapies, including labs and imaging
- Recognize urgent situations requiring immediate physician attention and provide emergency interventions if needed
- Counsel patients on health matters, medications, and disease management
- Facilitate patient admissions, documentation, and follow-up care coordination
- Assist as a surgical first or second assistant under supervision, including robotic-assisted surgery (da Vinci system)
- Manage trauma patients in a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center, supporting a trauma surgeon and multidisciplinary team
What You Need
Required:
- Valid California Physician Assistant license
- Trauma or critical care experience preferred
- Surgical assisting experience with documented training or competency
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
Preferred:
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (da Vinci) and knowledge of advanced trauma procedures
About the Assignment
Join a leading facility in Redding, CA, providing critical trauma services in a Level II Trauma Center. The role involves managing a diverse adult trauma patient population, supporting trauma surgeons, and providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment. Support staff includes one other trauma APP working day shift—this role supports monitoring, management, and discharge of trauma patients, with minimal to no pediatric patients expected.
