Overview

An inpatient program in northwestern Pennsylvania is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurological Surgeon for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule of approximately seven 24-hour shifts per month with APP support during weekday daytime hours.

• Start Date: October 5, 2026


• Contract Length: Ongoing


• Schedule: Monday–Sunday coverage, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM


• Coverage: Approximately 7 24-hour shifts per month


• Call: Telephone call with a 30-minute response time


• Setting: Inpatient


• Support: APP coverage Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM


• Call Support: APP takes first call except calls from the ICU and ED


• Patient Mix: 100% adult


• Scope: General neurosurgery, trauma, and stroke-related care


• Procedures: Acute care and trauma spine, trauma craniotomy, urgent tumors, and stroke-related bleeds


• EMR: Epic


• Credentialing: Approximately 90 days; full and temporary privileges available

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible


• Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC eligibility


• Minimum 1 year of experience


• ACLS


• DEA/CSR


• Must be comfortable working independently and managing acute neurosurgery and trauma patients


• Case logs and references required
