What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately according to physician requests and established protocols
- Interpret drug orders, transcribe, and verify in patient medication records
- Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including sterile and non-sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
- Issue controlled substances and maintain records as required by law
- Monitor drug therapies for safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness
- Provide clinical pharmacotherapy consultations, including anticoagulation management
- Participate in quality improvement activities and medication safety initiatives
- Educate patients and their families on medication use and safety
- Support hospital formulary management and therapeutic substitution protocols
What You Need:
Required:
- Graduation from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (preferred) or BS Pharmacy degree
- Valid Louisiana pharmacist license
- Pharmacy registration in Louisiana
- BLS or ACLS certification
Preferred:
- Hospital pharmacy experience
