Registered Nurse - PCU (12H Nights) – Shreveport, LA

- Experience: Minimum 2 years PCU RN experience, cardiac skills, and proficiency with Meditech EMR preferred

What You’ll Do:
- Provide expert nursing care for patients in a Medical and Cardiac Stepdown Unit
- Titrate cardiac, insulin, and vasopressor drips (Esmolol, Cardene, Amiodarone, etc.)
- Manage and monitor central lines, wound care, chest tubes, and ventilators
- Perform venous sheath management, TR Band application, and distribute medications using EMR system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Adhere to all safety and compliance standards, including EKG competency assessments
What You Need:
- Valid Louisiana RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications (LVAD preferred for 2W unit)
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience in PCU or similar setting
- Strong cardiac care skills, including managing cardiac drips and troubleshooting monitors
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start date
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
About the Assignment:
Join a diverse, traveler-friendly environment in a hospital known for its excellent patient care. The unit features a mix of cardiac and medical stepdown patients, with a focus on complex cardiac procedures and stable patient management. Support staff includes CNAs, RTs, and various specialized resources. You will be participating in orientation and working 4-day or 3-day week cycles, with every other weekend on rotation.
