What You’ll Do:
- Decontaminate surgical instruments, scopes, drills, and specialized equipment
- Assemble instruments and trays across various service lines including trauma, loaners, and peel pack
- Perform sterilization using Sterrad and steam sterilizers
- Handle high-level disinfection and scope processing
- Manage sterile storage areas
- Act as OR liaison to ensure smooth instrument flow
- Use Censitrac tracking system to log and monitor instrument processing
- Operate Medivator equipment for sterilization processes
What You Need:
- Valid CBSPD or CRCST certification (through HSPA/IAHCSMM)
- Prior sterile processing experience, preferably in a trauma or similar high-volume environment
- Strong knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, and instrument assembly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
About the Assignment:
This role supports the surgical services department at a busy Level One trauma hospital in Columbus. The technician will be responsible for all aspects of instrument decontamination, sterilization, and storage, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
