What You’ll Do
- Provide expert nursing care toPatients with respiratory failure, stroke, sepsis, and other critical conditions.
- Manage ventilator support, assist with intubation and extubation procedures.
- Oversee CVL management and placement, Foley catheter procedures, and tube feeding (NGT or PEG).
- Document patient progress and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team using Meditech Expanse EMR.
- Support the hospital’s stroke and neuro units, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with RT, hospitalist, and other specialists as needed on a high-acuity unit.
- Maintain compliance by passing an EKG competency exam prior to start.
What You Need
- Active nursing license in Louisiana or the ability to obtain one.
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in an acute care setting, including ICU/SICU.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Strong skills in ventilator management, stroke care, intubation, and CVL handling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
- Flexibility to float to other units such as stepdown or med-surg as needed.
