What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care in a busy Stroke/Medical Surgical unit with a patient ratio of 1:3 for RNs.
- Monitor and titrate IV medications including Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (with manager approval if experienced).
- Manage patients with AFIB, DKA, HTN, COPD, stroke, post-heart caths, and more.
- Support patients with complex needs such as chest tubes, tracheostomies, and dialysis (preferred).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RT, hospitalists, OT, PT, and ST.
- Maintain high standards of safety, charting, and patient advocacy using Meditech Expanse EMR.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment while ensuring quality patient outcomes.
What You Need
Required:
- Active RN license in Louisiana
- BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
- 2+ years of acute care experience, preferably in a similar setting
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam prior to start
Preferred:
- Experience with titratable IV meds and advanced ICU skills such as chest tubes, tracheostomies, and dialysis support
