What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality nursing care on a busy Stroke/Medical-Surgical unit
- Monitor patient conditions including stroke patients, post-cardiac procedures, and those with complex diagnoses
- Administer medications, titrate IV drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Levophed (with manager approval)
- Support patient needs including chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and other procedures (preferred experience)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, therapists, and support staff
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse electronic medical record system
- Ensure safety and compliance in all patient interactions
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or the ability to obtain one
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in acute care settings
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Certification
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work night shift and adapt to rotating schedules
- Preferred Skills: Chest tube management, trach care, peritoneal dialysis, and pass EKG competency exam
