Registered Nurse - PCU (Stepdown & MedSurg) – Shreveport, LA

What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care in the stepdown and med-surg units with patient ratios of 1:3 (RN) and 1:9 (CNA)
- Administer titratable medications including Cardene, Cardizem, insulin, heparin, among others, with manager approval if experienced
- Manage chest tubes, traches, peritoneal dialysis, lumbar drains, and monitor cardiac rhythms via telemetry
- Document patient care using Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Support the multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, RT, OT/PT/ST, and phlebotomy services
- Respond to emergency situations promptly and accurately, including administering TPA for stroke patients when required
- Assist with patient education and discharge planning
What You Need
Required:
- Active RN license in Louisiana or eligible for compact licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience, with stepdown/med-surg familiarity
- BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Preferred:
- Experience with titratable medication infusion, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and lumbar drains
- Prior travel nursing experience highly regarded
