What You’ll Do
- Provide care to patients on stepdown and med-surg units, including CVA/TIA, spinal surgeries, and overflow cases for various conditions
- Monitor and manage cardiac and other critical patient statuses, including titratable medications, chest tube management, and ventilator support
- Perform patient assessments, charting, and documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, OT, PT, hospitalist, and phlebotomy support
- Support continuous telemetry monitoring and act upon remote alerts
- Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection control, and quality standards
- Engage in comprehensive orientation to familiarize with the unit's protocols and equipment
What You Need
Required:
- Active RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure transfer
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam
- Skills in titratable medication administration and critical care monitoring
Preferred:
- Experience with chest tubes, traches, peritoneal dialysis, lumbar CSF drains
- Knowledge of Meditech Expanse EMR and IV pumps
