What You’ll Do
- Provide emergency care to patients across all ages, including trauma, stroke, cardiac, respiratory, and minor injuries
- Assess, prioritize, and manage patient care in a fast-paced ER environment
- Perform IV starts, medication administration, and dosage calculations
- Support admitted patients in the ED and handle hall bed assignments
- Collaborate with hospital staff, including charge nurses, RT, hospitalists, and ER educators
- Complete charting in Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Operate IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system with precision
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
- Minimum 1 year ER/ED experience (2 years for first-time travelers)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI or MOAB, NIHSS certifications
- Strong critical thinking, IV skills, and self-motivation
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
- Comfortable with high patient acuity and holding admitted patients in the ED
