We are seeking a Family Practice Physician for a 120-day assignment in Kentucky. This full-time position operates from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering a balanced 50/50 mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities. The role includes acting as a regional medical director, overseeing Advanced Practice Providers, conducting daily sick call rounds, managing various consults, and providing comprehensive general medical care within an inpatient setting for our client.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Act as regional medical director, overseeing 3-7 Advanced Practice Providers across 4 locations
• Conduct weekly visits to all assigned facilities
• Manage a balanced mix of clinical and administrative duties
• Perform daily sick call rounds in the morning
• Conduct restricted housing unit rounds once per week
• Handle physicals, emergency consults, and admissions consults
• Provide general medical care, including sutures, splinting, and management of common illnesses such as cold, cough, flu, bronchitis, and pain
• Perform long-term care unit reviews
• Administer IV treatments and manage oxygen therapy, monitoring levels
• Oversee medication management
• Lead preventative health clinics during the first two weeks of every month
• Provide chronic care management, with clinics during the first two weeks of every month; extreme cases are referred out
• Conduct physicals: yearly for patients over 50, every 3 years for patients under 50
• Perform intake evaluations for new inmates
• Complete thorough charting documentation
• Review EMR queues
• Review lab and x-ray results
