We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic for an impactful 65-day assignment in Ohio. This role involves Monday-Friday shifts with occasional night and weekend call, focusing on crucial responsibilities such as daily rounding and managing routine cardiothoracic cases including CABG, valve procedures, and lobectomies, alongside participating in out-of-house call duties.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts, typically 7 AM - 5 PM for rounding or 5 PM - 7 AM for call.
• Manage routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valves, complex aorta, and lobectomy procedures, and VATS.
• Conduct endoscopic vein harvesting utilizing Maquet Hemopro 2.
• Participate in occasional ECMO cases.
• Fulfill out-of-house call requirements; must be within a 30-minute range of the hospital if local or stay in a nearby hotel.
• Handle most calls over the phone, with approximately a 7% chance of being called in, or once every 10 shifts.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• EMR: Epic.
• Setting: Inpatient.
• Call Schedule: Out of house call with occasional night and weekend shifts.
• Patient Volume: 1-4 patients per day.
• LOA: 65 Days.
• Staffing Mix: 4 surgeons and 4 full-time surgical Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), along with 1 part-time APP and 1 new grad APP currently in training, covering 2 campuses.
