A Virginia hospital is seeking a Hospitalist Physician for a locum tenens assignment. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician who is comfortable providing inpatient care and performing intubations. (Job ID: 51760)

• Assignment Range: October 2026–January 2027


• Setting: Inpatient hospital medicine


• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine


• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience


• Intubation competency required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license


• Active DEA with Virginia address


• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine


• Completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency


• Active ACLS


• Minimum 2 years of current clinical experience


• Case logs covering the previous 2 years


• At least 5 successful intubations within the previous 2 years


• Current flu vaccination


• Recent CME documentation or attestation

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient hospitalist care


• Evaluate and manage acute and ongoing medical conditions


• Perform intubations and airway interventions as needed


• Coordinate care with hospital-based clinical teams


• Provide appropriate documentation and continuity of care throughout the assignment
