A healthcare organization in Southwest Virginia is seeking a Hospitalist Physician for locum tenens coverage. This opportunity offers primarily daytime hospital medicine coverage with APP support, along with physician on-call responsibilities for the overnight APP team. (Job ID: 51769)

• Start Date: August 20, 2026


• Assignment Length: Through November 19, 2026


• Day Schedule: 7am-5pm


• Setting: Inpatient hospital medicine


• Night Coverage: NP/PA on-site with physician on call


• Scope: General hospital medicine, acute admissions, ventilator management, rapid responses, and codes


• Procedures: Intubations and central line placement preferred


• EMR: Meditech Expanse

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine


• Active unrestricted Virginia medical license


• Active DEA with Virginia address


• Active ACLS


• Completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency


• Minimum two years of current clinical experience with supporting case logs


• Comfortable with requested hospitalist privileges
