Our client in North Carolina is seeking a Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day assignment. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. In this vital role, you will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop evidence-based treatment plans, prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, educate patients and families, and provide crucial crisis intervention and stabilization.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic and psychiatric medications for a range of mental health conditions.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, social workers and other members of the Rural Health Group team to coordinate integrated care.
• Conduct follow-up evaluations, monitor treatment effectiveness and treatment adherence.
• Educate and communicate treatment options and plans, treatment adherence and coping strategies to patients and families.
• Provide crisis intervention, support and stabilization for individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, aggressive behavior, or other emotional or psychiatric distress which may include a wide range of acute mental health symptoms. Coordinate emergency care and ongoing care as needed.
